Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

Last Updated: October 3, 2026

Pray with Christ does not sell, rent, or share your personal data, prayer requests, or conversation content with data brokers or advertisers. We collect only what is needed to provide pastoral support safely, and we tell you plainly what that is.

1. Who This Applies To

Pray with Christ is a religious and spiritual support platform open to users of all ages. There is no minimum age requirement to use this Service.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account data: your email address only, used to create your account, verify your identity, and let you log in. We do not require or retain your name.
  • Spiritual/pastoral content: prayer requests, chat messages, and voice conversations with pastors, processed to connect you with a pastor and deliver the session, plus any entries and updates you choose to write in your private Prayer Journal (see Section 3 and Section 11 for exactly how this is retained).
  • Payment data: handled entirely by our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor(s). We never receive or store your full card number, and we do not separately retain transaction records beyond what our processor provides for support purposes.
  • Technical data: IP address, device/browser type, and pages visited (see Section 7 on Analytics).

3. Special Category Data — Religious & Spiritual Content

Prayer requests and pastoral conversations reveal information about your religious beliefs, and may touch on your emotional or mental wellbeing. Under GDPR this is "special category data," and under CCPA/CPRA it is "sensitive personal information." We process this data only:

  • with your explicit, separate consent, given at the point you first submit a prayer request, start a chat/voice session, or start a Prayer Journal (not bundled into general Terms acceptance); and
  • for the sole purpose of connecting you with a pastor and providing the support you asked for.

Your prayer requests, chat messages, and voice conversation transcripts are stored securely as part of your account's session history — this is what lets your conversation persist if you reconnect, refresh the page, or resume a session, and lets us generate a brief internal summary to help maintain continuity across a longer conversation. This content is not used to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any AI model, and is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers. It is retained for as long as your account exists (see Section 11). Prayer Journal entries and updates are private to your account — they are not shown to pastors or other members — are stored with your account until you remove them or your account is closed, and are only saved after a separate confirmation the first time you start a journal. You can withdraw consent to this processing at any time by contacting support@praywithchrist.com; withdrawing consent will end your ability to use pastoral chat/voice features but will not affect your account itself.

4. Pastor-Penitent Privilege & Digital Communications

We treat your prayer requests and pastoral conversations with the utmost respect and confidentiality. However, digital communications hosted on cloud infrastructure may not carry the same legal protection as in-person "pastor-penitent privilege" or "clergy-communicant privilege" in every jurisdiction. We cannot guarantee absolute legal immunity against a lawful subpoena or an unforeseen data breach, though we apply industry-standard security controls (encryption in transit and at rest) to protect your data.

5. Call & Chat Recording

We do not record audio of Voice Prayer Room calls. A text transcript of your conversation — what was said, chat messages included — is stored as part of your session history the same way described in Section 3 and Section 11, not as a separate audio recording.

6. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide personalized prayer and spiritual support, and connect you with an appropriate pastor.
  • Maintain your account, preferences, and subscription.
  • Ensure the safety, security, and integrity of the platform, including detecting abuse.
  • Respond to support and grievance requests.

We do not use your religious/spiritual content for advertising, ad targeting, or to build advertising profiles, and we do not upload it (or any derived audience) to Google Ads, Meta, or similar ad platforms.

7. Analytics, Cookies & Advertising Pixels

Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion measurement and any advertising pixel (e.g., Meta Pixel) record that you visited a page — its URL and page title — across the site, including the Prayer Wall, Voice Prayer Room, and Chat Prayer Room. They never receive the content of your prayers, chat messages, or voice conversations, and never receive any data that reveals your religious beliefs beyond the fact that you used a religious support app, in keeping with Google's and Meta's own advertising policies. Google Ads measurement only tells us whether a visit from one of our ads led to a sign-up, a prayer session or a purchase; ad personalization is switched off for every visitor, so no visit is used to build advertising audiences. See our Cookie Policy for full detail and your choices.

8. Third-Party Service Providers

We use vetted third-party providers for hosting, database infrastructure, AI-assisted pastoral responses, and payment processing. Each is bound by confidentiality and data-processing agreements. We do not permit these providers to sell or independently use your data for their own purposes.

9. International Data Transfers

Where your personal data is transferred outside your home country (for example, to our hosting or AI providers), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent lawful transfer mechanism.

10. Data Retention

  • Email address: the only account-identifying data we retain. Kept for the life of your account, for the sole purpose of login and identity verification, and deleted when you close your account.
  • Prayer requests, chat messages, and voice conversation transcripts: stored as part of your account's session history, to preserve your conversation if you reconnect or resume a session and to generate a brief summary that helps maintain continuity in longer conversations. Not used to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any AI model. Retained for as long as your account exists.
  • Prayer Journal entries and updates: private to your account and never shown to pastors or other members. Retained until you remove an entry (which also removes its updates) or your account is closed. If you choose to share a praise report, it is submitted as a testimonial and only published if our team approves it.
  • Payment records: not separately retained by us; held by our third-party payment processor under its own statutory retention obligations.

You may request deletion of your account, and the content retained with it, at any time by contacting support@praywithchrist.com.

11. Your Data Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. California residents additionally have the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (including via advertising pixels), even though we do not sell your data for money. We respond to verified requests within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally within one month under GDPR). Contact support@praywithchrist.com to exercise these rights.

12. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify affected users and the relevant regulator without undue delay, and in line with applicable law.

13. Cookies and Local Storage

We use strictly necessary local storage to secure your session and keep you logged in. For a full breakdown of cookies, local storage, and analytics/advertising technologies, see our Cookie Policy.
